Pathways to Promise
Pathways to Promise: After School Support That Meets Students Where They Are
After school can be one of the most difficult times of day for students with autism.
Throughout the school day, many students are working hard to regulate their behavior, manage sensory input, and meet expectations. By the end of the day, they are often mentally and emotionally exhausted. What they need most is a chance to decompress in a safe, supportive environment.
Traditional afterschool programs, while wonderful for many children, are often:
Large and unstructured
Loud and overstimulating
Constantly changing
For students with autism, this can make afterschool the most challenging part of their day.
That’s where Pathways to Promise comes in.
Pathways to Promise is an afterschool program at The Hope Center for Autism designed specifically for students with autism from Prekindergarten through High School. The program provides:
A structured, predictable environment
Opportunities for regulated downtime and relaxation
Support for social skills and communication
Activities that are engaging without being overwhelming
Because we understand the unique needs of our students, our program allows for additional supports:
Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and private therapists are welcome
Individualized supports can continue beyond the school day
Thanks to a grant from the Children’s Services Council of Martin County, Pathways to Promise is offered at a reduced cost to families, ensuring access to those who need it most.
And beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, access will expand even further.
With support from Impact 100 Martin, The Hope Center will provide transportation from your child’s school to our campus, removing one of the biggest barriers families face in accessing afterschool care.
Why it matters
Pathways to Promise is more than aftercare.
It is:
A place to regulate after a long day
A place to feel understood and supported
A place to build skills at the right pace
A place where your child can simply be themselves
Registration for the 2026 2027 school year will begin in June 2026
